I've Fallen and I Can't Get Up

OMG! I just stopped by and can't believe it's been over two and a half months since I posted anything here. Or anywhere much, for that matter. Except for my daily DrawingEveryday summertime blog, over as of Sept. 1st, and my InspirationEveryday blog, which I conked out on a month ago. What happened? For the last month and a half I literally had dropped off the face of the interenet. I'd seen this happen to others too. One day they were blogging and posting regulars and the next, vanished into the thin air of cyberspace. Well, things got complicated in my life and priorities change. I'll be telling more about my ordeal on my SketchingEveryday blog soon. I still have the very last post of the season to add to my 2010 series. Well, it feels like I might be slowly making my way back, folks. I'll see how I feel about it tomorrow and in the days to come. Wishing you all well, peps. I've missed seeing you online.

Attn.: Artists - Sketching Everyday Challenge

My sketching everyday blog has just started up again for the 4th summer in a row! It feels great to be "back in the saddle again"! This year, I'm posting a photo at the beginning of each week. If anyone chooses to sketch it and send in your results, I'll post them on my sketching blog the following Sunday with my interpretation of the image. Here's this week's photo of Squamie, the Barred Owl at the Cedar Run Refuge.

"Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It's not a day when you lounge around doing nothing; it's when you've had everything to do, and you've done it." ~ Margaret Thatcher

Why Do I Blog?

People often ask me why I blog. It seems I'm somewhat obsessed with it these days. Sometimes I wonder myself, then an email like this one arrives about my Spirit Art Blog that I posted today on Determination. This one really makes my day. "It still amazes me when you pull up sayings that so fit where I am at. It's like you are in my head. Yesterday was the worst day I have had in a long time. It took such effort to keep on top of myself and my angry attitude. I just could not wait for the day to be over and I could sleep. Today is better. I felt, a few times, that I just wanted to just "give up". I was tired of staying on top of my lifeisum, but then I thought; giving up is not what my life is about these days and for the past years. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and this too shall pass. I put my words into action and with those thoughts, my determination to get through the day sober was easier. I hope you had two beers after your ordeal with Comcast, one for you and one for me. LOL Thanks for your thoughts." ~ Lee

We had a light dusting of snow last night and I took a walk in the woods this morning with my camera. This picture is of a little stream that runs in the back of our property. I love the way the snow accents the landscape and changes our perspectives. Do you also see the hidden hummingbird silhouette in this picture?
