Getting Ready to Leap!

“To live, to TRULY live, we must be willing to RISK.
To be nothing in order to find everything.
To leap before we look.”
~ Mandy Hale

Signs for my New Art Gallery at 33 S. Main, in Medford, NJ.
And a new adventure begins ....

Sign Design for my New Art Gallery - Opening Soon!
This is my first project layering, cutting and applying vinyl.
After over a 20 year hiatus, it really feels great
to be back in the sign making business.

"If we never had the courage to take a leap of faith,
we'd be cheating God out of a chance to mount us up
with wings like eagles and watch us soar."

My Solo Show Is Now Up At The MAC

I am so happy!
Everyone keeps telling me that the show,
 "An Evolution of Passion"
looks really fabulous!

The exhibit opened yesterday and the time went by really quickly.
New friends and old stopped by to help, visit, get a speak peek,
bring flowers, buy some art and in general, wish us luck.

When I envisioned the show, I knew it would be the biggest collection
of Sandy Sandy Art ever displayed in one location.
(Several have already "left the building", lol.)

Thinking conservatively, cautiously I told people that
"there would be over 100 original paintings on display".

Little did I realize, until after two days of set up, that there are
well over 400 original pieces of my art on display and for sale.
WOW! That was a shocker!

An Evolution of Passion - Solo Exhibit

"An artist must evolve to quell the voice within
and find new ways to speak unspoken ideas."

and this is really a lifelong process."

The Summertime Blues

"You ought to have seen what I saw on my way
To the village, through Mortenson's pasture to-day:
Blueberries as big as the end of your thumb,
Real sky-blue, and heavy, and ready to drum
In the cavernous pail of the first one to come!
And all ripe together, not some of them green
And some of them ripe! You ought to have seen!"

~ Robert Frost

Hand Painted, Signed 4 x 4" Ceramic Tile with Display Easel

We had a humdinger of a storm with tornado winds here in South Jersey on Tuesday, June 23rd. Along with thousands of others, we lost power for three days, which seemed more like a week. The strong winds brought down lots of trees on our property, but all our buildings and animals were spared.

We are lucky. The power is back on here but clean up continues to the distant sound of chain saws and generators.

Some of our neighbors are not so fortunate. Many huge trees took down electric lines. These folks are still without power, waiting for assistance.

The tornado had a field day at the home of a neighbor of my friend. Their insurance company has yet to return their calls and they were told by a contractor that there is well over 100,000 in damages to this old log cabin.

Sometimes there just
"ain't no cure for the summertime blues".

Thanks for stopping by, stay safe and happy creating!

Art, Visitors, Flowers and a Kitten

“I wanted to figure out why I was so busy,
but I couldn't find the time to do it."
~ Todd Stocker

My parents are visiting and we are having fun creating with alcohol inks.
Look how nice mom's first alcohol ink tile turned out!

A happy family adopted two of Sally's Kittens.
The look on these boys faces' says it all.
Love at first sight!

And we adopted the third. Meet Braveheart.
We are really smitten with this kitten!
He has moved into our hearts and our home
after a clean bill of health from the vet on Thursday.

We finally caught feral mom cat, Sally, with the help of this drop trap.
We are thrilled that we caught the kitten's
mom after trying for almost a year!

We're caring for an array of flowers, the horse and outside feral cats.
There is always lots of work to be done
here at the Sandarosa, but I guess
we wouldn't have it any other way!

Hope your summer is going well.
It's been really hot here the past couple of days.
Stay cool, happy creating and have a nice weekend!

They're On Their Way!

 “Never forget that anticipation
is an important part of life.
Work's important, family's important,
but without excitement, you have nothing.
You're cheating yourself if you
refuse to enjoy what's coming.”
 ~ Nicholas Spark

Spring has been very elusive this year. When we woke up, we had a dusting of snow on the ground this morning.

Our hummingbirds will be home soon though.
They have been spotted as far north as Virginia!!
Check out the 2015 migration map here.
I am so excited!

“The idea of waiting for something
