Dreams (Day 23)

What are your dreams? I'm not talking about the kind that occur during sleep. What ambitions or ideals do you aspire to? Are your dreams attainable or are they merely unrealistic, self-deluding fantasies? Are your childhood dreams the same as the ones you have now? What dreams have you attained and which ones have evolved or been set free over time? James Allen said; " Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so you shall become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be." I had this quote posted to my bulletin board for many years and I choose to believe in its truth. Do you believe that our thought processes can have a direct impact and shape the outcome of our dreams? What else may be at play in the accomplishment of our desires?

The Legend of the Dreamcatcher ~ # 14 of 30

The Dreamcatcher

Long long ago, a skillful holy woman could interpret dreams, offering healing and guidance. She had great success, but soon was overwhelmed because everyone wanted her assistance. She fled to a nearby mountain to seek spiritual guidance. There the vision of a beautiful talking spider appeared to her. She instructed the shaman to make a willow hoop and decorate it with feathers and beads to hang by her head that night as she slept. In the dreamtime, the holy woman saw the tiny emissary and watched her weave a beautiful web on the prepared support. Spider spoke to the woman of how the web would capture the good and necessary dreams for the dreamer to remember, while allowing the destructive, evil ones to continue on through the opening. "Teach your people to weave their own dreamcatchers and hang them above the sleeping ones. Construct them from Willow branches. Decorate them and weave them from your finest threads. Follow my intention and design. Then, good ideas, visions and feelings will be accentuated, while the negative, unnecessary ones will be filtered out, " the spider concluded. That morning, the hoop was just as she had seen it in her dream. Eagerly she returned to the village and showed the weavers and crafters her amulet as she told them of her experiences with the spider. Soon the shaman could relax and enjoy life more freely because everyone had a dreamcatcher hanging above their head as they slept, protecting and guiding them through the dreamtime and beyond. Aho, As I remember it ~ Paint Dreamweaver

"The Chicken's Dream" After Pablo Picasso

Row, row, row your boat,

gently down the stream.

Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,

life is but a dream.

The Traveling Chicken
project has come to an end for me.

Wrapping it up, here's the final post and
some photos of highlights of their visit.

The Red Rooster and His Little Chickita

The Red Rooster flew in from California

and surprised the troupe on Saturday.

He came with orders to gather the flock

and move along to their next destination.

TC and he were overjoyed at their reunion!

They told me they wanted so badly to get married.

The Chicken's Dream wedding was performed here on Sunday.

I know the local justice of the peace,

so a simple ceremony was arranged

and performed here on Sunday.

The New Mr. and Mrs. Red

The newlyweds are anxious
to settle down and start a family.

The chickens visited some of their country cousins.

The Little Traveling Chicken and her troupe
were sent on their way on Tuesday, but on Monday,

we had time to relax and visit some of the locals.

The Chickens enjoyed popcorn on the deck.

Regardless of their many cultural and physical differences,

birds of a feather, really do flock together!

The Chickens all had a blast.

All in all, the time went by way too fast.

I'm going to miss The Traveling Chicken.
 She and her friends made quite an impression on me.
I'm sure I'll continue to see them in my dreams.
