April 19th Demo At The Seaport Museum

I had a fun time at the Tuckerton Seaport Museum on Sunday. Pat Johnson, photographer and journalist for The Sandpaper of Long Beach Island, NJ, did a story on me which I just read here online. I think it's one of the nicest pieces ever written about me! The photos are very pleasing too. See my demonstration painting here. This is probably partially due to the fact that Pat is a kindred spirit and a fine artist herself. Thank you Pat! You have a wonderful style of writing and a natural way of portraying the essence of my art foundation, methodology, personality and artistic perspective. You can read Pat's lovely article here.

Demonstration This Sunday

This Sunday, April 19th, I will be at the Tuckerton Seaport Museum doing a painting demonstration from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Learn how to go from photo, to drawing, to painting. Admission to the museum is only $8.00. The demo is free and will be loaded with insights and information. (Now is your chance to see me in action!) A small collection of my originals and prints will be available for sale. Also, view the Tuckerton Seaport 2009 Art Show and Sale with over 100 paintings while you're there. OSPREY AT THE OLD FISH FACTORY

I just finished this painting today. It's another one of the small 5.5" x 7.5" original watercolors I started at the Tuckerton Seaport Museum on Sunday. The area around the old "Stink House" is legendary for being a great fishing spot. In the old days, the factory used to grind up fish for fertilizer, hence the name. Still a favorite spot with anglers, here one can see a wide variety of shore birds and maybe even nesting eagles.

A Serendipitous Day At The Seaport

It was an overcast drizzly day, but that didn't keep a few hearty individuals from venturing out to find inspiration at the Tuckerton Seaport Museum yesterday. It turned out to be a most rewarding and serendipitous experience for all. There definitely was an "other-worldly" connection and an unmistakable spirit present which could be felt by all in attendance. As I settled into my demonstration, I had an overwhelming feeling that I was truly in the moment. Coming from different locations, physically and mentally, I felt we were all exactly where we were meant to be.

This little 5.5" x 7.7" painting of the local "Fish Factory" was one of four "Stink House" paintings I demonstrated on. I sold one to new Spirit Art Member, Donna Felte, from PA. She like others among us, felt we were unequivocally there for a reason, brought together by spirit and fate.
