FREE HUGS AROUND THE WORLD

I just watched this video again. I posted it to my facebook page last week because it made me cry when I watched it. This Italian account has 2,742,411 views and was uploaded in May of 2010. This leads me to believe that a lot of other people like hugging too! There are many versions of this, done over the years in different locations around the world which can be seen on YouTube. I'd love to try this sometime.

This second video is from September of 2006 and has 67,013,976 views. I think it is pretty good too. Which one do you like better and why?

Shine On You Crazy Diamond

Discover the cosmos through A.P.O.D.! "Each day a different photograph of our fascinating universe is featured, along with a brief explanation written by a professional astronomer." I just love these images. The awesome colors, designs and mystery really gets my creative juices flowing. This photo is one of my favorites from NASA's Hubble Heritage Collection. Yesterday I made a slideshow using iPhoto and some of these images. With music from Pink Floyd, "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", my new 27" iMac monitor can now take me away on a "Magical Mystery Tour". See my 2008 Astronomy Favorites From APOD video set to the music of Cusco on YouTube here. Oh, and be sure to watch it in full screen mode and turn up your speakers! Enjoy!!

Doesn't the "God" in all Life Matter?

Have you ever heard of aerial hunting? It's a brutal practice. Wolves are shot from low-flying aircraft or chased to exhaustion, then killed at point-blank range.

Governor Sarah Palin, the Republican nominee for Vice President, promotes this barbaric practice, exploiting a loophole in the Federal Airborne Hunting Act to allow private wolf killers to shoot down wolves using aircraft. To encourage the killing, she even proposed a $150 bounty for the left foreleg of each dead wolf!

We have to get the word out about this! Please watch this powerful new television ad by Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund, and then share it with every wildlife lover you know:

Happy Hummingbirds

Things are really hopping here in NJ right now. I've got 6 feeders out and they're all as busy as this one featured here in my first video. I filmed this last week on the first day of summer. It will only get busier as the season progresses.
I am LOVIN" IT!

ARE YOU RIGHT OR LEFT BRAINED?

Watch this video and see if the dancer moves clockwise or counter clockwise. If she moves clockwise, you're probably more right brain dominated. You use more of your NON VERBAL, intuative, creative side. If you see her move counter clockwise, you are in the majority and are more of a left brain dominated, VERBAL, analytical individual. See "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" here.

Hummingbird Spirit Paintings Inspired By Cusco

This slide show is set to the New Age music of Cusco because it is the music I often paint to. This music takes me to a place of ancient knowledge and connects me to spiritual power. This one is from their Ancient Journeys CD and is titled, The Journeys of Marco Polo. I think it's very fitting for our little feathered friends who can travel as much as 6,000 miles in a single year!

The Living Camera

Stephen Wiltshire from London is a young savant who can draw aerial views of cities with amazing accuracy. Stephen is autistic and did not speak his first words, "pencil" and "paper", until he was five years old. When he was eleven, he drew a perfect aerial view of London after only one helicopter ride. This film tests the "Living camera" in Rome. After a brief helicopter ride, Stephen drew an almost perfect blueprint of the historic city on five and a half yards of paper in only three days. His gift is simply astonishing. After watching this video, a friend, Carol Anderson writes, "God doesn't make mistakes. His mind is as God wanted it to be. It is up to the rest of us to accept who he is and learn from his presence among us. Thanks for sharing this amazing video." Watch this and eight other inspiring videos of Stephen using his gift here on YouTube: Stephen Wiltshire, The Living Camera.
