If The Broom Fits ...

"If The Broom Fits, Fly It!"

“There were reasons dark books were written by women, those who were not allowed to publish, those who couldn't own property, those who had been sold for sex, those who had grown old and were no longer desirable, women in chains, women who dreamed, women who had turned left when it seemed the only choice.”
~  Alice Hoffman

This original 12" x 12" x 3/4" acrylic pour is detailed with alcohol ink. Created on a gallery wrapped n canvas, it comes ready to hang without a frame (but can also be framed if that's your desire). 'If The Broom Fits, Ride It' is on sale now for only $249. 00.

I also have a 10" x 10" high quality reproduction on 1/2" black foam core,
witch is wired and ready for hanging for $60.00.

This popular image is also available matted to 8" x 10" and as  5" x 7"
all-occasion greeting cards witch are blank inside and come with envelopes.
Both sizes can be put into standard-sized frames.

My Solo Show Is Now Up At The MAC

I am so happy!
Everyone keeps telling me that the show,
 "An Evolution of Passion"
looks really fabulous!

The exhibit opened yesterday and the time went by really quickly.
New friends and old stopped by to help, visit, get a speak peek,
bring flowers, buy some art and in general, wish us luck.

When I envisioned the show, I knew it would be the biggest collection
of Sandy Sandy Art ever displayed in one location.
(Several have already "left the building", lol.)

Thinking conservatively, cautiously I told people that
"there would be over 100 original paintings on display".

Little did I realize, until after two days of set up, that there are
well over 400 original pieces of my art on display and for sale.
WOW! That was a shocker!

The Colors And Textures of Imagination

"Abstraction allows man to see with his mind
what he cannot physically see with his eyes...
Abstract art enables the artist
to perceive beyond the tangible,
to extract the infinite out of the finite.
It is the emancipation of the mind."
~ Arshile Gorky

"As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life."
~ John Lubbock

Learning Patience

"Artistry is an innate distrust of the theory of
reality concocted by the five senses."
~ Robert Brault

Let Us Never Forget

September 11, 2001

"I will never forget feeling scared and vulnerable…
I will never forget feeling the deep sad loss of so many lives…
I will never forget the smell of the smoke that reached across the water
and delivered a deep feeling of doom into my gut…
I will never forget feeling the boosted sense of unity and pride…
I will never forget seeing the courageous actions of so many men and women…
I will never forget seeing people of all backgrounds working together in community…
I will never forget seeing what hate can destroy…
I will never forget seeing what love can heal…”
~ Steve Maraboli

The Color Blue

“How do you know, when you think blue;
when you say blue; that you are talking
about the same blue as anyone else?
You cannot get a grip on blue.

September 2015 - 30 Paintings in 30 Days - Day Ten

See all my abstract prints on demand here.

Blue is the sky, the sea, a god’s eye, a devil’s tail,
a birth, a strangulation, a virgin’s cloak, a monkey’s ass.
It’s a butterfly, a bird, a spicy joke, the
saddest song, the brightest day.

Blue is sly, slick, it slides into the room sideways,
a slippery trickster.

See Those Moody Blues here.
Prints of this painting are available in square and rectangular format here.

This is a story about the color blue, and like blue,
there’s nothing true about it. Blue is beauty, not truth.
‘True blue’ is a ruse, a rhyme; it’s there, then it’s not.
Blue is a deeply sneaky color.”
~ Christopher Moore
