Mother, As Sweet As A Flower

"If love is as sweet as a flower,
then my mother is that sweet flower of love."
~ Stevie Wonder

HAPPY HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all you moms; of humans and fur babies!
I HOPE YOUR WEEKEND IS CREATIVELY FABULOUS!

Please enjoy this FUN time-lapse #video of painting #Lilac-Like flowers in #alcoholink on #Yupo paper using #RangerInk's products. The mini ink dabber and the (controversial) BLENDING PEN were the main tools used to create this painting. Work in progress photos, with a detailed description of each step of this project is scheduled to appear on the Ranger Ink Blog on May 15th. I hope you enJOY this video, check out the #stepbystep pics on Monday and give this technique a try. Please pardon the cross posting, but I wanted to get this gift message out to all my creative online friends.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for helping me celebrate.
Have a great Mother's Day and happy creating!

Alcohol Ink on Yupo Demo Sponsored by Legion Paper

"I value a "don't know" attitude highly,
because it's ambiguous, and fosters a 'beginner's mind'
in which there are more possibilities than in an 'expert's mind'."

~ Theresa Bayer

I had the pleasure of doing an alcohol ink on Yupo demo
sponsored by Legion Paper at a local art club on Monday.

I was able to view the awesome art that these dedicated

seniors were working on when I first arrived. I could see that
the group was comprised of some very accomplished artists.

All were very attentive and eager to learn something new.

There was so much enthusiasm and so many great questions.
I just love those qualities!

OMG! I LOVE my job!!
Thanks to Marc Schotland and Legion Paper
for making these demonstrations possible!
And thanks to the inspiring group of artists from the
Leisuretowne Art Club for having me.

Sandy Sandy's NYC Watercolor on Yupo Paper Demonstration - 6-12-14

Over the course of my five demo gig at the Utrecht / Dick Blick Stores in New York City, I became reacquainted with all the intense diversity and exciting opportunities that the great city of New York, New York offers. I feel like I'm beginning to understand its magnetism. I'm a lot more comfortable getting around town and am looking forward to doing more work with the marketing director at Legion Paper in the near future. The people at Legion were very easy going, agreeable and fun to work with. They treated me so well, at times I almost felt like a celebrity! I just put together a slideshow with some of the photos that they at Legion were so kind to snap for me. See shots of my 2014 NYC Spring Demos.

The icing on the cake is an unexpected email
testimonial from one of the guests;

Sandy Sandy's YIPPEE FOR YUPO Demonstration - NYC - 6-12-14

"I attended Sandy Sandy's terrific Watercolor on Yupo Paper demonstration at Utrecht Art Supplies on June 12, 2014. During the 2-hour presentation, she created two beautiful paintings taking the time to demonstrate each step of the process, answer every question from the group and provide practical information and numerous tips. Sandy's down-to- earth, warm, generous and inspiring style created the most enjoyable and delightful atmosphere. I highly recommend you attend one of Sandy Sandy's demonstrations or classes whenever you have the opportunity! Thank you again, Sandy, for a wonderful demonstration. You filled the Utrecht store with your good will, good cheer, creative spirit and beautiful work." ~ Chris P.

Sharing My Passion

"Whatever you're doing,
give it all you got, share your passion,
excitement and enthusiasm and
let your vibe and energy become
an inspiration to others."
~ Ricardo Housham
After Wednesday's detour and some equipment streamlining, I was back on track for Friday and Saturday's NYC "YIPPEE 4 YUPO" painting demonstrations at Dick Blick Art Stores, sponsored by Legion Paper. Each one just got better and better! One of the good things about Wednesday's trip, is when you start at the bottom, there's nowhere to go but up!

Friday, May 30th's presentation was at the Dick Blick Art Materials
Store at
650 6th Ave, where I made my NYC debut last August.

There was a lot of interest in what I was doing.
Many shoppers stopped and lingered.

And a half a dozen ladies stayed the whole two hours.

 ~~

On Saturday, I was in the old historic section of NYC at 1-5 Bond Street.

The store was very impressive and I wished I had more time
so I could look around and do some shopping.

The people I have met have been so nice. We all had so much fun.

This group was really engaged. There were many thoughtful questions and lots of note taking. When it ended, nobody seemed to want to leave and everyone thanked me whole heartedly. Everyone agreed that they really enjoyed the event, were excited to try Yupo paper and had learned a lot. It felt awesome to share my passion and inspire people to learn, experiment and to try something new.

I am looking forward to doing more presentations. I will be going back on June 11th and will be at 536 Myrtle Avenue (from 4-6) in Brooklyn. And on June 12th (from1-3) I will be at 237 W. 23rd St. in NYC. You can see more about my "YIPPEE 4 YUPO" demonstrations here.

"Develop a passion for learning. If you do,
you will never cease to grow."
